Most examinees will be invited to join the COPSystem by a counsellor. As an examinee, you may be given a set of instructions entitled “Instructions for COPSystem Examinee Account Creation” that contains directions, as well as your counsellor’s unique registration link. Or your counselor may choose to send an email with a link to the appropriate registration form.
Here a few things to remember:
Yes. It is now possible to take the COPSystem on your own to help you identify new career opportunities using a unique career profile based on your interests, values and abilities.
Retrieve your password by using the password retrieval feature located on the sign in page. Enter your email address in the field and our system will send you an email with further instructions.
Here are a few things to remember:
Please contact your counsellor so that they can look up your unique username. If you are unable to contact your counsellor, please contact EdITS online support and we will be happy to help.
The time required to complete and score each assessment varies:
1. The Career Occupational Preference System Interest Inventory (COPS) takes about 30 minutes for most examinees to complete. Reading level and ability to focus on tasks for an extended period of time are the primary factors that determine how long it will take to complete. Please remember that you may return to the COPS at any time until it is completed.
2. The Career Ability Placement Survey (CAPS) is an ability battery that consists of eight 5-minute sections. Including reading the instructions for each test and actual testing time, it will take about an hour to complete this battery. Once you leave a section that has been started you will not be allowed to return to that section. However, you may stop between tests and return to the next one at any time.
3. The Career Orientation Placement and Evaluation Survey (COPES) takes about 30 minutes. Reading level and ability to focus for an extended period of time will determine whether it takes longer to complete this assessment. You may return to the COPES at any time until it is completed.
If you have technical questions about the COPSystem please contact our technical support staff at online@edits.net or call us on 0405 383 210.
Please keep in mind that it is only possible to view the results for completed and scored assessments. To complete the COPS and/or the COPES, you must answer every question and navigate to the end of the inventory. You may verify that you have completed a specific assessment by signing in to your examinee account. Your progress is detailed on the Examinee Welcome screen (e.g., New, Started, Scored).
With some browsers it may be necessary to refresh your results page in order to load the new results information. To do this, press the “F5″ key on your keyboard, or click on the “refresh/reload” icon in your browser’s navigation bar. This may differ slightly depending on the browser you are using. Also, some counselors choose not to display results until they can discuss them with you. If this is the case, a message will be displayed telling you to contact your administrator.
Changing your account information is easy. After you have successfully signed in to your account, click on ACCOUNT in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to access user account information. Update your account information. Once you have made all of your changes in the appropriate fields, select the Update Settings button at the bottom of the screen.
The administrative structure of the COPSystem is multi-tiered. You may deploy the COPSystem at your school/organisation by giving each administrator different levels of access.
Here a few things to remember:
In order to take assessments, students/clients must first create an examinee account. There are three ways to create these accounts:
It is only possible to assign tests to your students/clients if they have already registered for the COPSystem by creating an examinee account.
It is important to remember that examinee accounts are always linked to the counsellor account of the person who assumes the role of a proctor. Therefore, an administrator is only able to assign tests to an examinee if she/he is linked to the examinee, either as their counsellor or as another more senior level administrator from the institution.
No. A nice feature of the COPSystem is that every administrator account is automatically assigned the COPSystem assessments. We do this so that every administrator has the opportunity to view and take the assessments in the same manner as their examinees.
In order to access your assessments, however, you must sign in at the examinee sign in page.
